Rachel Alexandra was foaled January 29, 2006 in Kentucky, and is a retired American thoroughbred. She was the only mare in 85 years to win the Preakness Stakes. One of her greatest wins was the Woodward Stakes against the older males in Saratoga, also was named Horse of the Year in 2009.
